Lycian way, one of the most picturesque routes in the world, starts from Hisarönü and stretches to Antalya. Over 310 miles long, it takes its name from the ancient civilization Lycia, which once ruled the area. Being Turkey’s very first long-distance walking route, it was made in order to identify and protect some of the country’s old roads. The route is now used by trekkers, hikers, mountain bikers, as well as horseback riders and now it is your turn to discover its beauties and travel through history on horseback. Ride through forests of pines giving way to magnificent sea views at high elevations.
This tour is for experienced riders only, where we will be riding for 4-5 hours daily with well mannered, high-spirited Arab and Anatolian-Arab breed mares.
Meals will be provided in cafes and restaurants in the villages along the route. The food is typical of Turkey, featuring grilled meats, homemade soups, meyze and locally produced fruits and vegetables. Vegetarian meals can easily be provided with prior notice. (Most special dietary considerations may be accommodated, but it is best to check first with the specifics.)

Having ridden along positively pinching ourselves that we were finally doing what we had for so long longed to do, and that we were not dreaming but actually riding across this beautiful, open, hospitable countryside and seeing so many historical treasures, we can confidently say that we think others would enjoy the experience. Imagine the pleasure of hours in the saddle under a mild September sun, splashing through rivers, riding through shady groves, trotting and cantering along earthen tracks, and stopping in picturesque villages to drink Turkish tea in delicate little glasses with our friendly hosts. What could be better?
