Scotland understandably attracts many tourists for its dramatic scenery and vibrant, picturesque culture. There are mountains shrouded in mist, a rugged coastline with deep fjords, forests and rolling, heather covered hills dotted with grazing, shaggy coated Highland cows. Giant stags still roam the mountains and swift rivers full of salmon and trout run to the sea. This land of whiskey, the haunting music of bagpipes, kilts, ancient traditions and rich history has enormous appeal for visitors. You can still see the remains of Hadrian’s Wall, built in Roman times to fend off the attacks of the Scots and the Picts on England. The Scots are fiercely independent and justifiably proud of their country.
Scotland has a great deal in common with Wales, Ireland and Cornwall because these more remote and mountainous parts of the British Isles, unlike England, were not easily conquered by the Norman invaders and kept many of the Celtic traditions of earlier times. Due to an unfortunate combination of circumstances we do not have rides to offer in Scotland at the moment, but we do have similar rides in the other three Celtic areas mentioned above.
